A key highlight of our experience at INSIGHT was our demo session, led by Jeff Sinclair, CEO & Co-founder, and Élise Schoeller, Senior Enterprise Account Manager, titled "Eventbase Discover: Personalizing the Ultimate Event App." This session delved into the success of Discover, showcasing its transformative impact on event app personalization. Discover by Eventbase, which was announced at RainFocus INSIGHT 2023, exemplifies the third wave of personalization in event technology. Unlike previous waves that focused on replacing printed guides and enhancing attendee interactivity, the current third wave emphasizes personalized experiences tailored to each attendee's needs and goals.
Discover serves as a dynamic welcome screen designed to shape attendee journeys and enhance their overall experience from before the event begins, the moment they arrive and even after it ends. It addresses the fundamental question of "what do I do next?" by providing tailored content and recommendations to guide attendees through every special moment of the event.
This feature assists attendees in planning their day by showcasing featured sessions and offering personalized recommendations based on their interests. During the event, Discover screens adapt in real-time to highlight important activities, keynotes, and upcoming agenda items, ensuring attendees stay informed and engaged. After the event, Discover continues to be valuable, facilitating surveys, promoting future events, or directing attendees to session recordings.
One of the other key features of Discover is its adaptability for different types of attendees. Whether someone is a VIP, regular attendee, exhibitor or staff member, organizers can customize their Discover experience to suit their unique needs and preferences. Additionally, organizers can easily create customized sequences of Discover screens that automatically transition, eliminating the need for manual intervention during the event. This flexibility empowers organizers to create personalized experiences that leave a lasting impression on attendees.
We illustrated the effectiveness of Discover through various examples, including in our award winning Salesforce Events App, South By SouthWest (SXSW) and many other customer events. We also did a deep dive into personalization within the mobile app at the world's largest consumer technology trade show, CES 2024. Discover screens and personalized recommendations helped attendees navigate the vast array of displays through over 2.5 million square feet of exhibit space.
Pitching Event App Excellence
Participating in the Pitch Tank provided us with the opportunity to spotlight our other innovative event app features, specifically our robust recommendation capabilities showcased in the CES mobile event app. Presenters JJ Mumick, VP of Sales and Customer Experience, and Cameron McCormack, Senior Enterprise Account Executive, reaffirmed our commitment to delivering enterprise-grade solutions for event organizers.
During the presentation, we re-emphasized the importance of personalization in enhancing the event experience, particularly given the vast array of content and experiences available to attendees. We highlighted Eventbase's recent completion of a comprehensive refactoring of its recommendation engine, ensuring its ability to effectively showcase recommendations for the 100,000+ attendees at CES who utilized the app. This upgrade underscores our dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions tailored to meet the needs of large-scale events.
Additionally, we highlighted the new and improved sidebar menu in the CES mobile event app. The design of the menu for this year’s app was streamlined to enhance user experience, enabling attendees to access information quickly and efficiently.
Lastly, we also showcased ‘Eventbase Interests,’ a feature that allows attendees to personalize their experience by adding interests or tags about themselves. These interests are then used to generate personalized recommendations, resulting in the most personalized app home screen in the event tech industry.
